The one on new year’s eve

Some hours ago, i was thinking, ‘Oh wait.. it’s new year’s eve. The year has snucked pass me without me knowing !!’

*sigh*

What have i done for the last few years?

Nothing !!

Oh well.. life sux anyway.

I am excited though. I’ve no idea why, but i’m pretty excited about this new year’s eve. I should be out partying and drinking and stuff. Whatever stuff is.. maybe sex..

But then the laze in me is pretty strong. Just the thought of going out is enough to make me stay home. And to think partying all night requires that i stay out late, it’s unthinkable.

Anyway, i decided to increase my running mileage with a single long run per week. So i made a 13km loop. Actually, it was a couple smaller loops that make up close to 13km.

My right knee hurt liked hell after that. But the pain was gone today, and i was thinking that i haven’t got much time left in the week to squeeze in one session of weights, one session of interval and one swim session.

So i decided to do the weights today. And omg, the right knee hurt like hell when i was doing the leg press; but i ignored the pain and completed my reps. I hope i didn’t inflict any permanent damage.

If all seems well, i think i’ll do the swim tomorrow and the interval the day after and hopefully complete my exercise regime for the week and still give the right knee some rest.

Ok.. so much for now. Happy new year my sweeties.

More random updates

I’m out of topics to blog again. I always go to bed with something to write about in mind. But i always forget what i was thinking about the night before. Oh well..

Anyway, hmm.. been browsing Bishan girl’s photos. Possibly got boyfriend and possibly a mother too. Oh well..

Anyway, it’s really cold today. It doesn’t help that the scenes from my book is a winter scene. I now have four Gossip Girl books with me, borrowed from the library. Another five more and i’ll be done with the series. Oh well..

I just realized that even if i’m running many times a week, i’m still clocking very little distance. I think i really need to add one long distance run that is like 10km upwards. But i’m so tired these days. Argh..

Oh well..

Time to zzZ now.

It suddenly occurred to me that my friend’s niece sudden marriage on short notice could mean that she is already pregnant. Nevertheless, it matters little. When i was playing Sims 3, all my sims marry when they’re two to three days pregnancy (sims reach full term in three days).

Somehow, the idea of a eight month pregnant woman in wedding gown has always appealed to me, lol.

Went out yesterday to Orchard road to look at Christmas lights. I have no idea why i do that. My attitude toward Christmas lighting is not much different from how exciting i find fireworks to be; money exploding into flashes of light.

I concur that i’m a laze-around-with-a-mug-of-coffee person rather than trekking-up-and-down-roads person, lol. Ergo, i don’t understand why people can perform an activity called shopping and not call it boring.

Which, unfortunately, would be something that i would be doing alot now that my bicycle is stolen.

Dinner yesterday was at Marche. While ordering swiss rosti, i pointed at the cheese thingy and said i wanted cheese. And omg, the little splotch of cheese costs 8.90sgd !! More than what the rosti would cost. Wth.

I think 8.90sgd would’ve gotten me a sizable chunk of soft cheese at cold storage.

Latest Facebook status is, “Technology has left me behind”. Which is true. Everyone is carrying iphone, iphone 4, iphone mini, iphone slim, iphone tetris, iphone 3.142 aka iphone pi, ipod, ipot etc. and i’m still using this handphone that doesn’t even have a camera.

Bishan girl has iphone too.

Jealous.

Ooo.. i ate too much food at the Christmas dinner today. The spread was impressive. I don’t have any pictures though, and i don’t know the names of some of the ham slices.

The worst part was that i was hungry before the eating started. So i was munching on potato chips and bak kwa before dinner. And when it was time to eat dinner, i wasn’t hungry anymore.

Anyway, there was a humongous tray of beehoon, a large bowl of glutinous rice, three types of ham, one pork knuckle, otah, satay, sushi, eggs, pies, fishcakes, chicken wings, soy chicken, was there sotong balls?, three log cakes, white wine, mock meat in.. i can’t put a name to the sauce, too much food in the stomach to recall anything useful.

My brother and i got the eggs together. We cooked only 11 eggs for like close to 30 persons. Not enough to go around, lol. There wasn’t any garlic bread. I should’ve brought garlic bread. I love garlic bread.

I had wanted to cook spaghetti. But it didn’t seem like a good choice considering that there would be beehoon. The older generation would all prefer beehoon to spaghetti.

Then i thought maybe i could saute button mushrooms with garlic. Something for the vegetarian cousin. But i was too busy clicking on facebook games that i forgot to go out of the house to buy mushrooms. Thinking back, i don’t think there was much food for her on the table.

Anyway.. i think the sushi deserves a mention. The sad fate of sushi in extended family meals. I remember i made beancurd skin sushi once. Almost nobody ate it.

The two person who would eat copious amount of sushi would be the vegetarian cousin and me. But the vegetarian cousin, being a vegetarian now, doesn’t eat sushi anymore. And me, having binged on potato chips and bak kwa, couldn’t eat much for dinner.

Also, sushi on a plate of beehoon feels alot different from chicken wing on a plate of beehoon. Somehow, sushi seems to be a poor choice for extended family meals.

Hmm.. maybe i’ll talk about the gift exchange in another post. Or maybe not. But i can’t write anymore. All the blood is going to the stomach to process the food. Can’t think..

Merry Christmas, my lovely readers.

The one on Christmas eve 2010

Was at a friend’s house for dinner to celebrate tomorrow’s Christmas. She had ordered a whole turkey and we’ve managed to eat only half the turkey.

Anyway, some time during/after dinner, we were watching the television and the show we were watching had Robert Knepper, the guy who played Theodore Bagwell in Prison Break.

I mentioned out loud that i loved the character Theodore Bagwell in Prison Break. Here’s a quote from Robert Knepper from wiki:

Knepper comments that, “T-Bag’s not crazy. He knows exactly what he’s doing. He’s not going to make himself stupid.” In a separate interview, Knepper says, “I never play him like a stereotypical racist or redneck. He’s actually quite cunning and smart.” He likens the character to “Truman Capote without a degree”.

And then someone said that the character was gay. Which really wasn’t. This is a topic that is worthy of it’s own post and i shall not mingle it with this Christmas celebration topic.

Anyway, someone bought a chocolate Scrabble, which was really cute. Not adhering to any rules, the chocolate scrabble game quickly degenerated into a how to use up all the tiles puzzle.

Anyway, the host had a door gift for each of us. It’s incredible. Each gift is named. Maybe everyone have a different gift. Maybe a different flavor of cookies specifically selected for each guest. I assume the gift is cookies, i have not unwrap it yet.

One of the guys had a car and offered to fetch everyone home. How nice. I need more friends like that, lol. Thinking how back in Gippy i had to pay fuel fare to my friend whenever i used his car.. ba humbug.

Anyway, i asked to be taken to TPY mrt. Then i realized that if it was Bishan mrt, it would be more convenient for me since i would be taking the circle line. But along the way, as i looked at the road signs, i cannot help but burst out laughing. Coming from Kallang, it would have been more convenient for him to send me home directly than to go to either mrt which are actually further away.

Ok, i have to go now. Nephew needs my light off to sleep.

The one with the second secret

Remember i said many posts ago that i had a secret stash of money? That my dwindling savings can still get a little boost if i add the secret stash in which would allow me to buy a new computer and die from starvation or keep my belly full but die from boredom.

Turns out that i have two secret stash of money, just that the other stash is with my aunt for some fund thingy.

And as you know, we eat round balls of glutinous flour on winter solstice because it is round and round represents reunion or something like that. Come to think of it, how come we don’t eat round balls of glutinous flour on Chinese new year’s eve? Or maybe round balls of glutinous flour don’t represent reunion.

Whatever the case, i was re-unioned with a portion of my fund stash. I know my aunt won’t give me the full sum, so i didn’t ask, lol. Yay! Finally, now i can get my computer.

So i’m thinking.. what kind of computer should i get?

Now that the drilling and pounding has stopped, i can remember what i was going to say. I was going to say that me having my bicycle stolen really is some kind of karma.

Remember a couple posts back i said that i was at NEX shopping mall where i helped a girl maintenance/security to turn on the down escalator? That’s karma. Evil people like me should never do good deeds or we’ll meet up with misfortune.

Unfortunately, there isn’t an antonym for atonement, so the best statement i can say is: I must sin for my good deed. Maybe i should watch some porn.

But.. my enlightened liberal mind does not view porn as a kind of bad thing. Oh noes.. what should i do?

If you hadn’t read this from Facebook, here it is. “Someone stole my bicycle. I hope that bastard die a horrible death.”.

Oh wait, i think i said arsehole, not bastard. Well then.. Someone stole my bicycle. I hope that bastard arsehole die a horrible death.

I had cycled to aunt’s place for the winter solstice thingy where we eat balls of glutinous flour in chicken soup. I had locked the bicycle at the bicycle stands at the ground floor of the block. When i was going to go home, i found that the whole thing was gone. The lock, the wheel attached to the lock, and the rest of the whole bicycle.

I guess i have to revert to walking to everywhere i’m going now.

So angry..

Anyway, so much for now. Can’t think of what to write anymore. Some kind of drilling upstairs again..
