The one with the skin on

Anyone who’s eaten with me would probably know that i love to eat the skin of things. Roasted pork skin, roasted duck skin, braised chicken skin, etc.

Except KFC chickens’ skin. Though that’s not exactly correct. I do love KFC chickens’ skin. I don’t eat it as often, as a matter of principle, that’s all.

And it’s not just the skin of meat, i eat the skin of non-meat foods too. I’ve eaten baked potatoes with the peels on before and today i ate sweet potato with the peels. I was a little too lazy to peel an exploded sweet potato.

I don’t know how it exploded though, ask mum..

Come to think of it, it’s not right to call skin that are not peeled peels.

Some days back, last weekend, i ate a banana. And yes, with the skin. Though i didn’t eat the black whiskers bit at the end of the banana. It looked kind of gross, even if seemingly crispy. Then again, eating banana skin is supposed to be gross, i think.

It wasn’t an organic banana though. What the hell was i thinking..

Anyway, my little cousin saw me eating the banana with the skin on and was giggling away. He said, “Even monkeys 吃 banana 都会 peel 那个 skin.”

I think he was making a jibe at my intelligence -_-

Of unsweetened coffee

I got distracted from Lost and am now playing Plants Vs Zombies full-time. The Lost eppys are on hiatus until i get enough of zombie shooting.

Anyway, went out for a gathering dinner today. There’s something about meeting people socially on Mondays. But i’ll talk about it another time.

Dinner was at some place called Ayam Penyat or something like that at Lucky Plaza. The chilli is omg hot. I was sweating through the scalp in the aircon room !!

I digress, i always mix up the names Lucky Plaza, Plaza Singapura, Far East Plaza, Far East Shopping Centre.

After dinner, we retired to a food court for some Ah Kun coffee. One of the girls offered to buy the round. Free coffee, LB’s definitely game. I decided to try something that i always hear dearie cousin talking about, kopi-O gosong peng. That’s unsweetened black ice coffee.

The drink makes me think of the movie Dances With Wolves. The protagonist was drinking coffee with an Indian. Dances with Wolves then brings out a bag of sugar and throws a dash of sweetness into their pot of coffee.

After tasting the sweetened coffee, the Indian begins throwing in as many handful of sugar as possible until Dances With Wolves pulls away with the sugar.

Anyway, the drink is plain horrible. I don’t understand why my cousin likes to drink it. But then again, i’m drinking my morning coffee without sugar these days.

The one with the evil plan

More on Lost. I’m on to season three now, Sawyer and Kate had returned to camp leaving Jack behind. Sawyer found a stash of beer and was looking around the camp to see if he can see Kate. I think he wanted to share his stash of beer. Aww.. so sweet. Kate was in the jungle looking for.. i don’t remember the name, my memory is bad and i just woke up. Kate was looking for the girl with the rifle, mother of Alex (girl), the hermit in the jungle and antagonist of the ‘others’.

Anyway anyway anyway..

Sawyer doesn’t want to hold hands with Kate. Some kind of scared of commitment thing. Man, i can connect with him. He’s exactly like LB in every aspect. Except that i’m a good guy who does the good things.

Then again, he’s not like LB. He had, after all, bedded two hot babes, Ana Lucia and Kate. My number of nookie is still a grand total of zero. But then again, he’s the one who’s stuck in a deserted island with babes.

That’s it. Maybe if i was the last guy on earth, girls would start falling in love with me.

Wth. Is that supposed to be a compliment?

And if girls fall in love with me only when i’m the last guy on earth, then i know what i must do. Today, i will join the ranks of the greatest villainy, alongside figures like Doctor Doom and Magneto. I’m sorry if i don’t know the names of more big time villains. Comic isn’t exactly my forte.

I will revitalize my ambition to destroy the world. Such that i will be the only guy left in a world of women. Excuse me while i clear my throat for my evil laugh *ahem* Muahahahaha.

All that in the name of love. Aww.. ain’t i the hopeless romantic. The keyword in the previous paragraph is not ‘Muahahahaha’. It’s ‘revitalize’. Yep, i had the dark ambition of destroying the world all along. Until Facebook came along.

I mean like, it’s hard to plan world’s destruction when you’re clicking on some Facebook game every fifteen minutes with the added distraction of a random pretty girl profile picture on the sidebar whenever i return to the homepage.

I guess the first step would be to remove the obstacles. I must destroy Facebook in order to proceed with my plans.

Oh wait.. time’s up. I’ve got to click on my Facebook game. Ta.

The one with Lost

Haven’t got time to blog, coz now i’m doing Lost eppys. Nearing towards the end of season two, where Michael just shot Ana Lucia and Libby. I assume that they’re both dead since they were lying around with their tongues lolling and not moving. Though i must say that the lack of blood in the scenes makes the effects of gunshots quite lacking.

Somehow i always knew/suspected that either Walt or Michael would always return to the camp as a converted spy.

Thus far in the series, the favourite character has got to be Sawyer. Yep, i always seem to like the dark horses, anti hero rogues. At first i kind of liked the doctor, Jack. But he never seems to ever have any setbacks and always seem to be bullying Sawyer. That made me kind of hate Jack, the seemingly main protagonist of the show.

Among the girls, i would say Kate and Ana Lucia are tied for the hottest. Libby is too meek, too mild, too bland. Sun, the korean girl, is too naggy, probably the reason for 50% of divorces in real life. I mean like, she stops Jin, her husband, from going on an adventure to save Michael, wth. I so wanted to slap her at that point in the show.

Claire though she looks pretty, is too shrill and whiny. Shannon is.. well, she’s actually quite ok, but died early in the seasons. So it’s down to Kate and Ana Lucia. Ana Lucia is definitely hot and desirable. She’s spontaneous enough to have sex with Sawyer when he pins her.

Spontaneity to sexual intimacy, probably the reason for the other 50% of divorces in real life.

But Ana Lucia seems a little too psychotic. Which leaves Kate, the commitment phobic fugitive, always on the move and on the run. Which is still not too bad a quality as a wife. And the boobs.. What can i say.. mind ‘em boobs.

The one without Ballet Under The Stars

Ballet Under The Stars. I would’ve went for it if i knew earlier that it was this weekend. As it was, i only knew about it when i started seeing posts in facebook titled Ballet Under The Stars yesterday.

I briefly thought about going out to buy tickets, if there are any left, for tonight’s performance. But the thought of going alone, finding out how to get there, and more importantly, possible rain and floods, though i don’t know if that place floods, it’s on a hill i think, but possible rain is enough to deter me.

So i stayed at home, and an auntie came visiting with the idea that we should eat some horrible durians for dinner. Oh well..

The one when i went Geylang

I went to Geylang (SG red light district). How about that for starting a post, lol. And nope, i wasn’t there for food even though it’s a place where we can find good food (culinary), or so i heard.

Though i wasn’t there for the red light district thingy either. There’s a Magic The Gathering shop there which a friend of mine is a shareholder of. I went there today, for the first time, to attend the M11 release tourney that they were holding.

Got 4th in the tourney (more than 64 players) with only one loss to a freakish God made it that way game. I side-boarded a lone mountain and two lightning bolts in and he plays an aura that gives his creature mountain-walk the turn after i play a mountain. Blehz. But 4th is a pretty good position too.

The address Geylang isn’t as bad as it sounds. It was only a mere 2 minute walk from the MRT (Paya Lebar) and there wasn’t any freelancers or um.. marketing officers in the vicinity.

Anyway, my friend was asking me if i liked his shop. I began saying that despite the proximity to the MRT, it was quite out of the way with little stuff in the vicinity, namely KFC and Old Chang Kee.

Then he jokingly said that i could always go to the um.. lanes to hire one of the girls. To which i said that i was not interested. I mean like, for that couple of minutes of pleasure, some fatty Old Chang Kee food would do equally well and at a more affordable price, no?

Anyway, my friend asked in some shocked awe, “Huh? Why not interested?”

Well.. Of course, what’s there not to like regarding sex with a girl. The thing is, i am a hopeless romantic and an idealist. I really would rather have sex with a girl i like than hire someone to um.. do it.

The one where my bicycle toppled

Couple days back when i was at J8, i decided that i wanted to get some Takopachi. I remembered that there was one store right beside the Tori Q store.

But the Takopachi store wasn’t there anymore. And i hadn’t noticed it even as i queued for my Tori Q (the Tori Q store had expanded and occupied the space that was once Takopachi).

Anyway, i still have a craving for Takopachi and i remembered a cousin saying that the pasar malam was at AMK. I assumed all pasar malams have Takopachi stands since i saw them before.

I rode my bicycle to AMK, found that they didn’t have a Takopachi stall : ( Though there was this stall selling squid kebab. I hope they’ll continue to sell their squid kebab when the pasar malam makes its way to TPY or J8.

Anyway, i was going to ride my bicycle home when i realized that my helemt’s strap had become undone. So as i was slipping the strap through its loops, a girl walked past my bicycle infront of me.

I’m not sure whether it was the air current or sexual tension, but my bicycle toppled after she walked past. She turned to look a little as she continued walking. She must’ve thought i was ogling her and lost balance and got my bicycle toppled.

I was concentrating on my helmet loh. Honest.

The one i went to Funan then Sim Lim Sq

I wanted to play Sims 3. But the computer hasn’t got the video card requirements, so i decided to go to Funan to take a look.

Anyway, when i was there, one of the monitors got my attention. It was showing the trailer for the new Freddy Kreugar movie. I ended up standing there watching through all the movie trailers while a creepy girl behind me kept smiling to herself as she browse the shelves for a mouse.

Unless one’s buying a wireless mouse, i really don’t see why there’s a need to browse for mouse for over half an hour -_- My god.. how difficult can buying a mouse be? Find one that has all the buttons and rollers you need, choose ball mouse or infra mouse, gauge physical appeal and color appeal, gauge size of mouse, peek at price tag, USB or PS2 connection.. who even buys PS2 mouse anymore?

Anyway, turns out that there are some shows i wanna watch. There’s a show starring Cameron Diaz and Tom Cruise, seemed like a pretty nice show to watch. There’s another show, though i don’t intend to watch, that has loads and loads of big name actors, including Sylvester Stallone, Jet Li and even Arnold Schwasomethingnegar. Isn’t he supposed to be doing some mayor job?

And of course, my favourite trailer? Resident Evil, Afterlife. With Milla Jovovich and Ali Larter !! *drool* *slurp* Coming on September 2010.

Um.. in case anyone thinks that i like Resident Evil movies coz i’m geeky and plays those games.. No, i’ve never played any Resident Evil games before. Nope. Nilch. Nada.

Ok, back to video card shopping. After a quick browse, i realize that Funan is not a place that would stock video cards for old PCs with PCI slots.

Flipped through the street directory which i had brought along, and i walked over to Sim Lim Square. Waltz into a shop randomly and asked if they had video cards for PCI slots.. Nope. Nilch. Nada.

Before i went about asking in another shop, i decided to give up and thought that maybe it would be more cost effective to get my notebook repaired instead. Considering that to play games effectively on the current desktop, not only would i need a new video card (that probably wouldn’t fit into the new computers), i needed a new CD reader too.

Ok, next time i’m heading out to Sim Lim Square, i’m lugging my notebook along. Hopefully it doesn’t cost too much to repair. If any kindly soul has an extra, atleast 128mb, video card for PCI slot..
